Didn't fish over the weekend due to terrible weather. Thursday evening and friday morning were good to me. Thursday yielded 5 wipers in the 7-9 pound range. Friday another 5 wipers but a bit smaller.

The good
Thursday: caught crappie up to 2lbs from a farm pond
Friday: coached my son's base ball game
saturday: guided a man who hooked a 20" rainbow plus many more
sunday: rested and worked on the lawn
the bad...I guess you can say it's all good as long as I'm still drawing breath
the ugly..who am I to judge that?

Here In Central Ok fishing is hot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We are hammering big LM bass and large Catfish. We also had some bass kick our behinds as they are in shallow water and heavy cover. One literally sewed me to a downed tree by going under and over it twice in the first minute of our battle(her escape.)
We also caught the years first big Crappie (13-15 inches)in shallow water. My Buddy thinks the Crappie are just getting started.
after a nice warm up we have had some cool (Cold) weather and nasty wind. The fish seem to bite best after 4.
I have also heard the walleye are hitting in lake hefner. Most people use bait but with a sinking line it should be possible.
Like I told Roger about the cold front, it came through so I only got a few bites and picked up one little gill on a Gill Getter Saturday over on the Little Lake Jackson Canal behind my sister's house. Haven't gotten out on a lake in while so I just might have to do that soon.
Fishing was better on Thursday before the front. Just ask Don Ingram. We both did real good on both bream and LMB. I even caught a little warmouth. Don kept my 16" LMB and his 14.5" LMB. Great top-water action with pushers and poppers http://www.flyanglersonline.com/bb/smile.gif.

Wasn't able to get out last weekend but except for nailing my biggest ever carp a few weeks ago on a pattern I copied from OkieBass, I've had a horrible spring with a couple of zero outings and/or small fish the other times. I'm going to my parents this Sunday and fish some old trusty farm ponds where I rarely come up empty handied for some nice size largemouth. The perfect way to end a fishing slump!
The good-I got out for the first time of the year
the horrible-I got skunked and to *** insult to injury THE SPINFISHERMAN BESIDE ME CAUGHT 2 BROWN TROUT! http://www.flyanglersonline.com/bb/frown.gif And worst of all is that ive never caught a brownie
I forgot to point out the ugly-It was in the midle of downtown hull"quebec" and the river was flooded with garbage and everywhere else was covered in graffiti!
The bad - was not able to get out last Saturday
The good - did go Sunday from 3:30pm to 7:00pm and caught 25 bluegill and 16 rainbow
The bad -- IT WAS VERY COLD!
Overall, had a great time and hope to repeat it this weekend - you all come down to Tennessee and go with me - that goes for you to Ohiotuber!

I went trout fishing on Saturday and did pretty well. On Sunday I went to a family picnic at Spavinaw State Park and did a little fishing in Spavinaw Creek. I caught 2 white bass and 3 bluegill before lunch and spent the afternoon visiting with brothers and sisters and nieces and nephews. Someone had obviously caught a lot of white bass there in the recent past because one section of the creek bottom was littered with a couple hundred carcasses of fileted white bass. There were also several large gar surfacing but I didn't have any gar flies with me.

Hey Okflyfisher,
Where are you hammering the LMB? And do you ever fish Overholser?
