Melk,
I fish from my kayak about 90% of the time now and while a striping basket could be useful at times, it just doesn't seem worth the effort or the space it would take up. I have an old Hobie Outback and it has a tie down cleat on the bottom side right in front of the seat. If that wasn't there, I don't think the line would ever tangle. That said, if you know of one that works well, let me know. I'm always open to new ideas.

Hi,
Just so you know, Cabela's is offering a stripping basket very similar to the Orvis basket ($80.00+) which was originally offered by LLBean. The Cabela's basket is approximately half price of the Orvis one. Catch a sale and it would probably be a good deal.

It's just an 8 quart dishpan held on by two bungies that were originally used for foam scupper stoppers (can't remember who made them).
