okflyfisher,
Can you post a picture of the slippery rabbit?
Everyone else, what's the hottest color popper? Yellow or white?
Hi Robert,
Yes, the pencil poppers are turned on the
little dremel lathe. Quick and easy pattern
for me.
Alberto is a bit of a wimp as storms go,
however, we have already had numerous
tornado's here from the storm and they just
keep coming.*G*

These get concocted and tossed around here a lot. When they quit working, we'll then look for someting else. http://www.flyanglersonline.com/bb/wink.gif

Keep safe, Jim.
I think maybe Lefty said it best, "Use any color for a popper you want as long as its yellow." http://www.flyanglersonline.com/bb/biggrin.gifQuote:

No contest! The Hard-Hackle Worm, usually in purple, or sometimes black. It's a cant-miss pattern for L.M. bass.

My Wife is the photographer in the family so I don't have a picture of the Sippery Rabbit. I may do it a as a fly of the week sometime if she will help me and Ladyfisher will publish it. It is snagfree, durable has a great profile and a suductive wiggle . While the Crayfish is my buddy's favorite fly he caught 130 Bass in one day on one slippery rabbit. He was whinning for a week able how sore his thumb was. Of course I did not give him any sympathy
130 bass in one day on the slippery rabbit. I think that would be my #1 go to fly hands down. Know anybody that has a digital camera? If so take some pics of it and post it.

I'm really growing fond of Kent Edmonds' Stealth Bomber. I'm experimenting with them now in "Full Pimp" mode for both bass and bluegills. Fun to fish - and effective.
If you guys havent read or picked up this quarters Fly Tyer Magazine you should. Its got a great recipe for poppers that are far more easy to make than the traditional pencil poppers. Ive turned out about a half dozen since picking up the magazine. They turn out flawless if you follow the directions and they wont break if you cast them against objects. Just thought I would share.
