will try to tie a Vis-A-Dun Baetis, You need to move north.
gigmaster, keep the EHC. I was actually joking. This gives me the opportunity to tie something I've never done before -- a badger spider. I happen to have everything I need for that simple pattern.
Yikes! I guess I shouldn't have started that thread on bifocals and not being able to see small flies! I just told Cathie that whatever the theme was for the next swap, I was going to tie it on a really big hook! I guess I'll have to find some tiny hackles and go at a really small fly or two. I will get back to you all with the exact pattern after I go through my necks and see what colors I can go that small with. I might go with a no hackle, or a funky pattern based upon what I can get for hackle. Probably going to be a little stonefly or caddis in either black or cinnamon, as those tend to be the best small local patterns.
Put me down as tbd and I will let you all know within a couple of days.
Dave
p.s. If I tie two patterns in size 9, wouldn't that add up to 18 ??? (Where did I put those size 9 hooks?)
We had 2 incompletes last month, so we have 2 openings if anyone wants to jump in.
A little early in the year for me, but I'll tie up some size 20 or 22 better winged olives unless anyone objects. Thanks for letting me join up the swap of the month, you guys do a great job with your swaps.
I updated the month assignments. See this post for current info:
