Clay- When I get the materials, I plan on tying some in olive chenille and fluorescent green floss. That's what I love about tying your own flies. You just have so many more options.
To: The Inventor of "The JR Royal Spider"! ha!
Seriously, Joe, it looks GREAT! If you want a small assortment of rubber leg materials, to play around with and don't want to keep robbing the Wally World spiders, shoot me your mailing address and I'll send you some various barred colors, and whatever else I may have! (Freebies, of course!)
Darn, nice, fish too!
Thanks Paul! Hopefully I'll have some more good fish on these this weekend. I plan on getting a one-day permit and raiding some places if it isn't raining.
Don't know how often you get into Florence AL. but here are a few places you might want to check out. First off Tom Smith Custom Rods across from the Tower on Veterans Dr. ( by Wilson Dam). He has a few things of interest , especially cheap silicone skirts, jig hooks, hair and feathers for jig tying, some thread and tinsel. For serious fly tying there is an Orvis shop in the back of Alabama Outdoors located on North Court street 1/2 block south of the UNA campus. Fly tyers meet there on Wed. afternoons 4 - 7. With AL license you never know where you may end up at dark. Fair selection of stuff. High quality though. FISH ON !!!
