Spun Hair Creations
Is that an Eagle Claw? I've tied several different hair bugs on those short shanked hooks. Try putting a sequin on the front. The action in the water, and the way it POPS is incredible. Cool fly.

That looks a lot like a patter by Lou Tabory called the Tabory Slabside. It is designed to fished with a sinking line, so that it bobs up and down as you strip it in. Besides creating a wide profile, the tall and slim deer hair head makes it wobble some like a wounded fish. You don't want it to wobble too much, of course, but some instability is good.

HMD - ifin you're chasin pike - that one will do some exercise damages to your arms ........
Looks danged close to what a local pike chaser goes for.
Even give 'er a go on bass ...... although there I'd trim the beard a tad.
