Satchel:
The fishing opportunities are better outside of Georgia, partic. in NC.
The USGS grant money ran out or is about to run out for postings on bacteria, chryptosporydia, and other things that pose a risk to humans but not fish. Whether or not those thing are present are meaningless as to whether trout can live in the water. They can live in some nasty stuff (as far as humans are concerned) as long as the temps are right.
It is too cold and windy to fish in GA right now. I passed by at lunch, and no one was out there.

Just bringing this back up to the top. Looks like the trip is on. I will probably get in to North Atlanta on Friday morning and be tied up with family that day, then head north on Sat. I'd love to fish all day Sat. and head on home when the fishing is done. Any takers??? I'm completely open to where. The Hiwasee sounds good, or someplace on the hooch. Love to fish with anyone who is free Sat. for a few hours.

These are the idle thoughts that posses a man's mind when he's not able to fish.

You should post over at [url=http://www.ngto.org:d655d]www.ngto.org[/url:d655d] . You will find plenty of info on fishing the 'Hootch in Atl and folks willing to meet up for a day of fishing. The fishing, and the weather, have been exceptional for the most part. There are also a couple of smaller DH streams within 2 hours of ATL, so there's really no need to go all of the way to NC.
