Just bumping this one up also. John
The second fly I tied was a San Juan worm. My son really wants to tackle that, so, if it's permitting, it'll be a Mother-son retie reunion.
My first fly was a Mickey Finn (in 1964). My second fly was a Black-Nosed Dace. Could I get in with this one?
Thanks,
Gig
Pheasant Tail, DianeID and Gigmaster - welcome to the swap! Only a few more slots open. JGW
I put my flies in the mail today. Thanks again for letting me join in on this one. It was fun tying the Green Weenies. John
The second fly that I tied was a crazydad. Can I get in with that? Also, this is my first swap so could you pm some details. Thanks, this sounds like fun.
Welcome to the swap, ckjacks. Please see the intro for more information. JGW
The crazydads are finished and will be mailed first thing in the morning.
Edit: They are on their way.
YOur flies have arrived, ckjacks. Look to be some fish in 'em. Thanks for being in a part of it. BTW, we still have some slots open for this swap. Perhaps "attrition" has led some to a point they can't remember the first fly they tied after the wooly bugger *G*!!! JGW
I don't think the Wooly-Bugger had been designed yet when I started tying (in 1950 something). I think my first fly was a Mickey Finn, then a Black-Nosed Dace, followed by the then popular Wooly Worm and Bi-Visible patterns.Quote:

When I first went in the military (USMC) we still had propeller driven fighter planes and bombers in service. We had just started going into space with the Mercury Program. There were no microwave ovens, few color TVs, no VHS or DVDs, no home computers, no video games, electronic calulators, etc......
And even with all that, we can still remember our first flies....
