I'll do something Viking. Give me a moment to give it some thought, atlhough it will most likely be a streamer -- something sleek tht moves quickly downstream. Something like a party boat. JGW

I notice most of you live in trout country, so if i tye a streamer please give me a range of streamer hook sizes. I'm sure my typical warmwater 4 and 6's will be much too large for your style of fishing. JGW
I fish for trout some of the time but I also fish for LMB, Strippers and Pike. I use a lot of large flies. Like right now it is way to hot for trout so I have been using my 8wt to fish for strippers and pike. for them I use flies from a size 4 all the way up to 3/0. It is great to have many kinds of fisheries. Just to give you an example of the fish here the state record strip is 68 #. Just wanted to let you know about some of the fishing here in TN. I use a lot of Large Clousers and Decievers and Large Salmon Flies. But I also fish a lot for small Brookies. So I have to have flies in all sizes and rods in all sizes. John
I live in a warm water area so I very seldom if ever even hear of trout being caught. A #6 tie works for me, but at times I will fish a #20 or smaller to catch bream. Now the fly I'm tying will be a #10 bream fly.
I'm very comfortable with tying 6's, and use them more than 4's. When I got back into tying after about a 20 years absence I was still in the big fly mode, but it's been proven to me thanks to the underwater denisens that small hooks/flys work very well. On the other hand, I've tied a couple of 18s and a few more 14s, but 12s are about as low as I go. 6-10 are the hooks that basically fill my hook box. So I'll do my Viking Streamer on a 6. Thanks for the responses. JGW
