OK. Here's my entry. I just had to do it. It is called....the Bird Dog!
I made a cool discovery. Lab hair stacks sort of like elk and deer hair. Neat!!!! And since I treat my dogs with Advantage...this fly will never get fleas........:lol::lol::lol:

Thread: Black 6/0
Tail: feather barbules from the bottom of my Conure's (Capt. Ahab) bird cage. Sort of salmon-red.
Body: clipped hair from one of the tan spots of my Black & Tan Dachshund (Bruno).
Wing and head: Clipped hank of hair from my male Labs (Blackie)shoulder.

I would think Lab hair would stack nicely. Looks like it spins fairly well, too.
We have inherited my daughter's Shitz Tsu, as well, but her hair is quite different and I am not sure how I would use it. Kinda long and flowy. If it was as long as it is supposed to be, I might try weaving it. It might make good zonkers, but I don't think my wife and daughter would approve of the process.
