Thank you George for posting such kind and thoughtful words. I find it ironic that "old" fly fisherman/fly tying experts seem to have that name George! It was a fella by the name of George Everhart, fly fisherman/fly tier extraordinaire, who first took me under his wing and taught me how to fly cast - on the Boardman River up there in Michigan - plus introduced me to some fly tying basics. That was back in the 1950's, and my friend and mentor was to pass on in the early 60's. But it was that George that opened this whole panorama of fly fishing for me. Let me add, too, that I find it remarkable that he had become such an artist with the craft in an era where instructional information was woefully lacking. Today, besides the internet, one can become deluged in printed fly fishing information ... and perhaps some of it being a little on the "questionable" side of the ledger!
