I also learned from Kathy's video.
But I didn't reallly "get it" until a drew a schematic of the routing of the thread for myself.
Here's what I came up with.

THAT'S IT!!! THAT'S IT!!! Exactly!! Keep this handy, and you won't have problems with the wraps! Thank you, Ed!!
Thanks all, yes I'm looking forward to the video.
Hey Ed,
That looks EXACTLY like my walking route, after fly fishing, back to where my wife will pick me up, when I take along the "larger" capacity flask. Amazing how well you were able to plot it.
Actually I too just bought Kathy's video and based on viewing it a few times decided that other than the "i did it myself" factor, I'll buy mine from the guys/gals here. Looks like fun but it's the economy of time for me.
Mark
PS: Between buying from Kathy and Ron S' generosity, I have several furled leaders BUT have never used one. I'm looking forward to finally "tying one on" to see what all the fuss is about.
Oh, Marco! Once you try one, you'll never go back! Ever.
Marco -
Before you tie one on you have to be absolutely sure that either (1) you will have a life long supply from others, or (2) you can commit to making your own if your suppliers dry up.
This is NOT about experimenting.
Be forewarned.
John
After a lot of "EXPERIMENTING" I've pretty much settled down to 7' leaders made from 6/0 Uni thread and Berkley Vanish "Transition" Fluorocarbon using Kathy's 10/8/6 formula and 2.5 mm tippet rings!
I sent one of each to RDL yesterday.
KaboomI- same as on Furling board Kaboom?
If so, nice furling rig you have. You might want to explain and show some pics here of your brainchild and how it works
If it's not you. Nevermind.
RDL;
You think your doomed!! I'll be doing my demonstration at the 4th Annual WBC Outdoor Expo. WBC stands for "Whitesburg Baptist Church"!! I am in big trouble as I haven't been in a Baptist church since highschool! :D Haven't been in a church since my second wedding back in 19.. what ever! In fact, thinking back, 50% of my days in court were about my weddings!!??
Now Paul I know you're going to jump on this so, should I leave the pocket flask at home? Don't forget this is in Huntsville, AL where it's ok to take a 6 pack and a pick up to the reading of the will! Maybe the Buckeye Bandit will help me out here but I doubt it 'cause "If God had not created whiskey the Irish would rule the world"!!;)
Sorry for Hi Jacking this thread Rob. No I'm not, the NBOF are never sorry just a sorry lot!! :p
