8) I use Wiss Clips, as sold by Al Beatty on his web site www.btsflyfishing.com they are very fine, extremely sharp, and the blades are replaceable and they can be kept in the hand while tying. To obviate the need for very fine tips ( filing grinding etc.) use only one blade and pull the tight thread against it, this cuts the thread very close and doesn't cut hackle, wings, legs , or any other extraneous material that you don't want to cut

I use thread clips too. I run of a file over them before every use to keep them pretty sharp. Plus they are easy to keep in your hand while tying. It doesn't feel right now when I don't keep them in my hand. What ever I can't get with them I usually use a red hot bodkin to singe down.

I've got Dr. Slick micro, razors, Anvil and nonames but nothing beats these for price and fine thread & feather work:

All the rest of them serve their purpose like cutting tinsel, wire, large feathers, stems etc.

Definitely the Dr. Slick arrow tips for me, too. I went two them as part of a product testing gig and fell in love. Great fine tips for getting in close and a notch to cut coarse materials and wire. One scissor doing the job of two and that many fewer times I have to put down one tool and pick up another. Saves time and the frustration of wondering where I laid that other pair of *explative deleted* scissors
