13 years old and ask questions like this.
You buy the best you can, if it is a 3 dollar flea market fine. You fish with it and enjoy it because if my figures are right, your 3 dollars equal my 300. Your reel will mean as much to you and mine to me. You might even find a way to make some fishing money.
You find a nice spot on this board and settle in. If you are half as smart as I think you are before long you will be one of the old timers.
Welcome and good fishing.

Ouchigan.
Kid,, you are pretty cool!! 13 and putting out some good, honest questions,,, I'm impressed!!!
Bloom,I hope you find one in your range. You can get the Viscount series for that price but you may have to look at maybe $300 if you want to get into a better model. If you are a righty you can find Perfects for $225-300,, you just have to be patient and then snipe the hell out of the other guy!
One other suggestion I would make is to look into the J.W. Young reels. They are quality english reels at a fraction of the prices of the Hardy's. I have alot of them and i would recommend them to anyone. They are readily available for under$100
Ouchigan, nice job young man ,it has been a pleasure watching you stand up for yourself!!
