On the other hand, it turns you into Giraffe Bait! ;)
Thanks for sharing those great photos.
Morneb: I've never needed to do ANYTHING that badly....
It depends on what ALL you intend to do / use your "RV" for. Fishing ONLY? Then your correct..stay in "Motel 6". Also depends on WHERE you go..whether vacationing or fishing ( which is a vacation for the wife and I).
Then toss in gear you need or want to drag along on your trip. Which may be a lot or may be just a willow switch??
Locations such as Jackson WY...dont have ANY cheap "eateries" unless you want Pizza 3 meals a day. Its nothing to pay $50 for supper..and at times it can run as high as 70 with 2 drinks tossed in.
$100 a day for a room....nothing to it. The place we always liked has shoved their prices up to $150 A NIGHT.
Rough order of magnitude says I spend $200 a day for diesel fuel...and when I pull over for the night..regardless of where it might be...MY BED is in the back! No waiting in line for airline ticket.....no arriving late especially for an inter-connection....no strip search..or even taking my shoes off for "inspection". Unlimited amount of junk I can haul...no weight limits....
Just try end get on board an airline with firearms...:( I get to spend quality time with my bride of 26 years...and see some country between home and ( destination)
Nope...$$$ isnt the bottom line at all...so if it is that important...then motel it..or even better yet just stay home and that way you save even more!
BTW..did I say I can haul 6 in the same amount of comfort for NO ADDITIONAL COST!
Hey Sully, or anyone else needing a place to sleep when coming thru Rock Springs, my wife and I have an extra bedroom, queen size, and two twin beds in the other bedroom. Just please let us know a couple of days ahead to make sure WE are home.
Morneb, great pics, some of them look like Wyoming at times!

Very very nice place, garb. If I may, one suggestion: when tenting it, you've got the right idea with the tarp, but fold the edges so that there isn't any tarp peeking out from under the tent. When it rains, that little bit will act as a funnel, and guide all the rain that falls on it right under the floor of your tent. When it's folded under, it still acts as a top-notch moisture barrier from the ground below without catching the rain and funneling it under your floor. :)
