Shuck
I have just obtained several packets of a material labeled as 'shuck'.
They are from the US. It looks very much like what we here call cactus chenille. It looks a bit like a short version of the tinsel you put on Christmas trees. Can anyone tell me what it is and what it can be used for???

Since you know Cactus Chenille, I presume you have some idea how to use it. The most common application here is for Crystal Buggers - Woolly Buggers (you would call them Dog Knobblers) using that chenille rather than the cotton or rayon type. They are excellent for bass so I guess you would use them for 'rough fish'. Other than that it is not used much, although I guess it could be used for a wingcase on a large nymph like a Montana Nymph.

Thanks for that Greg... I assume by 'Rough Fish' you mean 'Coarse Fish' hehehe.. we need a dictionary on here. I also appreciate the interpretation of Wooly Buggers to Dog Knobblers, I didn't know that....
Maybe we should have a glossary on this board!!!!
