easy zug bug
last year this became my go to fly during our caddis hatches. it fishes better drag free rather than swung as a soft hackle
hook: size 12 hogskin creek cj600 (this will give you a size 14 fly)
bead: slotted, silver tungsten, 7/64 diameter
thread: 6/0 fire orange
tail: 3 to 5 peacock swords
rib: medium silver wire
abdomen: peacock herl
hackle: speckled brown

Nice tie John, like the peacock sword tail. The pic came out great.

thanks for the encouragement, cliff and scottp gave me some good advice on posting pictures, i owe them one, and greatly appreciated their help. as for the wired pt it is in my plans

thanks for the comment. the zug bug pattern is an old one, that served me well as a caddis nymph. when i started updating my flies to using the jig style hooks, i never could get the proportions right with wings, coverts or anything else on the top side of the hook, so i started leaving those things off and leaning towards a soft hackle/flymph appearance. hasnt seemed to affect my fish count
