6-15 pond fishing

Went out to a pond this morning. I know that black is a good color to use on this pond. Used a black furl tailed mohair leech and a black slumpbuster on a size 10 jig hook with a 2.4 mm slotted bead.
The bass and gills were very cooperative. Caught 2 or 3 bass for every gill I landed. Lost several gills that were barely lip hooked. Did catch two bass in the 5 lb range. Big bellies so they stayed in the water.
Forgot the camera so no pictures. But lots of fun.
