yesterday's fly
I have no idea how many of these I have. Not the specific pattern that worked yesterday but sets of flies tied the day after something was the hot fly. It may never be the right fly again and may soon move out of the carry boxes to the ones in the car. Actually, I like this little streamer and think it will be effective in warm water as a perch imitation which is what I tied it for. The one that found it's way into the trout box worked well yesterday so now there more in that box. Am I the only one that ties day Late?

No you are not. But, as you know, what worked today might not work tomorrow. I trust old patterns and like to tie them. Trout are selective. Apple pie today or peach cobbler tomorrow. You never know. Thanks for sharing.

Sounds interesting....would love to see a picture of this fly! :)
I know exactly what you mean. I tie up one or two of something, try it and catch a lot of fish on it...tie more after that, but never seem to catch as many on it later. Crazy, right? Do we fish them differently the 2nd time around? ;o)

Dave, it's a really basic streamer. Several turns of .025 lead free wire under gold trim material from Hobby lobby on a size 10 Mustad 59780 hook. Short red marabout tail, olive marabou wing to rear of tail and a hen grizzly collar.
