Developed by Don Gapen, the guy who gave us the Muddler. Usually think of Spitfires in green/brown camo and a sky blue underside; this must be the night-fighter variation. Original had duck quill tail.
hook - Mustad 3906B #8
thread - Danville 6/0 black
tail - shlappen red
rib - x-fine wire gold
body - chenille black
body hackle - hen brown
hackle - guinea

mash barb, start thread; tie in rib, wrap to bend

measure (gap width past bend) some schlappen fibers; tie in/trim

strip end of chenille; tie in, wrap, tie off/trim

tie in hackle, take a few wraps at the front then spiral to the tail
