Help identify a fly line
Some years ago I purchased a 2wt line for a rod my brother built me. I seldom fish the rod but had it out today to bother the bluegills in a local pond. While fishing it I considered that I need to replace a 5wt line I have and the one I was fishing was behaving very nicely. So I thought I would buy the same brand in a 5wt. But when I got home and was putting away my gear and looking for the box the line came in - it was not there. So I have no idea what brand of line it is. The line has an orange belly and then turns to yellow in the running line. I googled a bit on two color lines and yellow and orange lines and did not find anything. Does anyone recognize the line?

I had an old one like that. I think it was touted as a nymphing line, but not sure. Again, a long time ago, but seems it was to help detect a take w/o an indicator??
Probably wrong about this as it was a long time ago. Seems like it might have been 3M?

I'm pretty sure I have a Cabela's line like that but I looked at their site and it doesn't appear it's available anymore.

I am beginning to believe that I may have never known what it is. I have the boxes and spools for all my other lines but not this one. I may have bought it used, probably off this site. I guess I will just go in search of a decent 5wt high floating wf line.

That sounds like a Cabela's Prestige line to me
On sale now. 20 beans

I have a #5 Cabela's Prestige line on one of my reels right now. Looks just like you described.

Thanks Dan - I looked at them as Dudley suggested and they are described as Orange without any reference to the yellow running line.
I guess I will get off an order for one or maybe two as the 3wt could stand a new line also.

And the answer is!
I found the information on the line. It is an older Cabela's Rocket Fusee, which was actually a Cortland 444 branded for Cabela's.
The line is on an STH cassette reel and when I removed the cassette from the reel I saw the sticker I had affixed when I first spooled it up.
So the new Cabela's Prestige is today's equivalent. So thanks to all for your help.
