The Ruby is one of my favorite low-water midge patterns. It?s a great search pattern in smaller pocket water or boulder fields. I like to fish it fairly tight-lined and actually pull it through and around boulders, along shelves and through the heads of smaller riffles and plunge pools. It is also an exceptional dropper pattern for a tandem rig.

Nice Ralph. What sizes fish best for you? I never heard of that Orvis glass. Is it the same as mylar tinsel?
Bruce,The size shown is #16 and is my favorite size. Body glass was the orvis version. I have a mix left over from orvis along with Hareline stalcups micro-midge tubing. Both work equally well. It's a vinyl hollow tubing. Ralph
I believe the Orvis version is the same as D-Rib?
