tungsten sticky weight
Going to tie some stonefly nymphs and thought I would use some of the Tungsten sticky weight that I don't particularly like on my line for the underbody. Would SHAN cover up the "stickiness"? Or does anybody else use this kind of stuff for under body? Seems like you could mold it to a wide profile.

Not used the tungsten you mention but I often use self adhesive lead. I find it is best to wind it sticky side out, making the under body sticky, and tie over that.It helps with positioning the materials that go over, especially with a shaped under body.
Would like to get hold of some of the stuff you mention.
Cheers,
A.

Tungsten putty would be too soft, and would not hold it's shape. It turns nearly to liquid in hot weather.

Maybe some kind of epoxy over the top of it would keep it from losing shape? The product referred to in the UK forum is not available in the states, but maybe JB weld?

The dry time on JB weld might be a problem on keeping shape, have you thought about kneading it in wtih epoxy putty? Just a thought.
