Yellowstone Opening Day
For you folks lucky enough to be there for the opener (Le Mans start from the IMAX parking lot??) enjoy the day. Saw this about a fertilizer spill on Grayling Creek:

Hope that doesn't cause any serious damage to a nice little fishery, or Hebgen.

There's also the fact that we're under a winter storm warning or winter weather advisory, depending on location. It may not be possible to reach the Firehole from my front door today (where there is 4-5" of new snow, incidentally).

Wally,
Looks like great baetis weather to me:

Figured you'd be scrambling among the boulders up your way for the opener.

Ben caught 9 fish in 20 minutes before work in the Chinese Gardens. I'm skipping out at noon to fish the Gardner myself.

Actually, that looks kind of nice. It's going to hit 97 degrees and high humidity here in mid-Missouri.

Heard from someone on another forum (an EMT in West Yellowstone) that the report on the fertilizer was in error and it didn't flow directly into the creek, although some may have leeched in. I checked with the folks at Blue Ribbon and they've heard both stories, too but don't know which is correct. Hopefully, most of the spill was contained.

Scott
