Big silly! It's a fish!
Spinner1,
Where did you catch that beautiful fish? Until now I thought that the only place to catch Tiger Trout was southwestern Pennsylvania at Seven Springs Resort. They are well known around here for the "stocked" tiger trout that they put in their private lake. A few friends have picked up one in local streams but they are few and far between outside the resort. Ron
southwestern wisconsin.
small stream with lots springs...
good population of brooks/browns...
NOT stocker......
We have them in Washington. I used to work at the hatchery that made them. Pretty fish, but a lot of work to raise since so few survive. Most die before or right after hatching.

So those are tiger trout...I'd never heard of such a breed until the other day. A co-worker started cursing on them for some reason. Looks like a beautiful fish to me.
The hatchery I worked at produced a lot of tigers.
Almost as many as regular brookies
We did't seem to have the problems that Helicopsyche mentions.
They're very agressive, and hard fighters.
The largest one landed for me, last season, was 16" and put up a pretty good struggle

May the fish that you catch always be larger than the hole in your net
The Tigers in wisconsin happen in nature.
We do NOT stock tigers here.
