Very cool. I have a CD called Big Trout Radio that contains a great version of that song, performed by Artie Traum and others.
This song also appears as the last track on Smithsonian Folkways' American Folk Anthology edited by Harry Smith. If you like this kind of old-time folk music and are unfamiliar with this collection, do yourself the favor. It's the best collection there is, hands down. Though, unfortunately, this is the only song having to do with fishing.

I recently heard a recent recording of this on a Nitty Gritty Dirt Band CD. It's really interesting to hear these now. They have some real character to them. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Rybar. There are some things on there I'm not familiar with. It gives me a few more things to search for starters when I'm just surfing u-tube. Another good fishing song that led me to this recording is Woody Guthry doing "Talking fishing blues". I started searching Leadbelly last night and ended up at Jango Rheinhart/Stephan Grapelli.
