Troth Hair Hoppers
Attachment 9314
Just found these, hiding in the far reaches of my hard drive. Hair Hoppers tied by Al Troth. Al used to tie these without the red legs on the sides. But (rumor has it) Tom Morgan wanted them tied that way. And Al made a permanent design change. This is not the MacHopper, which was a larger, yellow-woven-bodied fly similar to the Troth MacSalmon.

How did you come by them?

They're not mine. I borrowed them, just long enough to photograph them, from Fred Nelson and Tom.
Half or more of the flies at http://montana-riverboats.com/index.php?fpage=Fly-Tying are borrowed flies.
This particular Hair Hopper (below) has a synthetic wing cover of some sort. But most did not.
