Perfected my Bitterroot stone and wanted to share. Fished it early July on the East Fork with good success - mostly foam (floats well), easy to tie, durable, catches fish. Apologize for lame photography skills.

Do you make that body on a needle, and then slide it off the needle, prior to finishing the fly?

Yes, I use a needle to tie a Furimsky style abdomen which looks great but is a lot easier to tie than a Rogue Stone style. Also, it allows me to use the same piece of foam for the head and body. The trick is to tie the heaAttachment 8836d in first, backwards, then flip everything over to make the body and create a rounded foam head. Next, add the Crystal Flash, WeAttachment 8835b-wing, coarse deer hair, and rubber legs. I included some pictures to illustrate. Do you think it would make a good FOTW?
