A mess!
Went out tonight and strung up a couple white bass. I was lucky enough to hook up with an 18" channel cat, too! Great times! I was using ROR-EYE's "Bread and Butter Minnow" in chartreuse-over-yellow.

Great fly, and the white bass really seem to like it.

Chartreuse has been a good color for me this spring on whites, too. Nice batch of fish there Zac, I'm sure the guy who caught them enjoyed the money you gave him to let you take that picture as well. Oops, did I say that out loud?! :D

haahaahaa! nice string Zac!

nothing better than a white bass run. When they are running in the Detroit River you can catch a hundred a day.

Oh yeah! White bass on the fly are more fun than a barrel of monkeys.
Nice catch.

Hi Zac,
Good job, looks like a lot of fun. I hope to get to go in a few days myself.
Regards,

Tim.... :D
I went out and made another "mess" tonight!

Came home when the clips on the stringer filled up. About sunset, the midges started hatching, and the gills were swirling at emergers right on the rocks. So I took off the minner fly and put on a little hares ear soft hackle and proceeded to whup on the gills! Gotta love it when speculations are correct!

Same thing up here tonight. I just slipped out for an hour after work, but still did okay. Mayflies in the evening, midges at dusk, bluegill and small whites busting them the whole time. Was real tempted to switch to dries.
Caught several like this guy:Attachment 8155

Nice! Sure was FLAT here this evening. Perfect for flinging flies. I ALMOST put a soft hackle under a Thingamabobber about 6", but I like feeling that THUMP of them hitting a moving fly too much!
That lake almost looks familiar, Tim.....
