Saw the news. Big-Bad Earthquake. I pray they are safe and well.

They had a 7.1 in September with no fatalities but I suspect it weakened some other structures that this 6.3 quake brought down. I hope and pray for all of the people of New Zealand.
I sure hope they're OK. I have a friend in Christchurch, safe thankfully, who says the destruction is beyond comprehension. Thoughts with our pals in En Zeed.
Hi Guys, thanks for your thoughts, I am well and in Auckland, about as far from the Quake as you can get. I have not heard from Jeff but he is also based in Auckland so hopefully he should be o.k.
This one was "smaller" on the Richter scale but was much closer to the city and at a very shallow depth, the centre of the city is a mess, many buildings have collapsed and many people are trapped in multi story buildings that have collapsed. On the plus side they rescued 8 people from the Pine Guinness Gould building overnight. The Cathedral has lost its spire it has come down through the roof of the cathedral. At least two busses were crushed by falling debris and it looks like there is going to be a major loss of life, currently the confirmed death toll is 65 but it is likely to rise a fair bit as the emergency guys clear the rubble.
Please say a prayer for the poor people of Christchurch.

Whew! I sure am glad to hear you guys are OK. My first thought on hearing of it on the news was, "Oh-no! Mike and Jeff!" NZ is added to the prayer list.
