Atlantic Salmon in Ct
Reading a small local paper I came across an article about fishing for Atlantic Salmon in Ct. The article is about the stocking of fry over the years with limited success of bringing Salmon back into the Ct River system there are some that have returned and they have been stocking broodstock. The article points to the Shetucket River below the Scotland Dam where an 8 pounder was cought on 12/23/10. The rule book states that from October 1 thru November 30 it is catch and release only. From December 1 thru March 30 you can keep 1 Salmon and you can't add weight to your line.
This is the location in the article. Good luck if you give it a try!!!

Donat,
Thank you for sharing. Atlantics are truly wonderful fish. All the Atlantics I've ever caught, were landlocks from Lake Champlain (N.Y.) tribs.
Best regards, Dave S.

This failed attempt to restore sea run Atlantics to the CT River system has been going on for almost 20 years now and the returns from the sea are dismal. They have spent well over $100 million on this failed program and it should be stopped imo.
