Here is my first attempt at a cranefly. The wings could have been done better but I don't think the fish will mind.

Fred H,
I guess you know that someone, sometime, somewhere, someway & somehow, are gonna want to see this in the FOTW! Just sayin! But hey, it won't be me. Right! BTW, did I mention that I reeeally like that tie.
Best regards, Dave S.
Thanks Dave . I'll put it on my list of things to do.

Fred,
That's one of the best cranefly (Daddy long legs in the UK) I've seen. Seeing it as a Fly of the Week would be great. Congrats on a fine looking fly.

Thanks Ron very kind of you to say.

That is so realistic! What is the body made of? I am interested in how you were able to taper the ends like that.
Well done!
A very nice 'Daddy-Long-Legs' Fred,
how about a recipe?
I think that when you are satified with your results, a Fly Of The Week would be appreciated by all the members of FAOL

Phenomenal!
But I have to ask...You're actually going to fish that?

StevenPhenomenal!
But I have to ask...You're actually going to fish that? Absolutley. It was tied to be durable ,althought I'll have tosee what needs to be changed to ensure it casts and rights itself on the water. If nothing else I know I can dap it to some finicky trout.

AlbaSurfThat is so realistic! What is the body made of? I am interested in how you were able to taper the ends like that. The abdomen and thorax are deerhair wraped in thread , colored with markers and coated with flexament head cement. The trick is not to bind down the deerhair so much that it will no longer float. The taper is achieved by tying in the deerhair tips where I want the taper .
Well done!
