I don't bother with the pay ones because I have my favorites on the PC and playing games will chew up battery time. It's good for long waits if your bored. Some of the games are 'online' which would require WiFi or G3 or G$ reception... WiFi can find for free in many places but you pay for your online time if your using cell towers. (G3/4) So be aware of your usage there.
"The Hatch" is pretty cool. Hatch charts for all over the country with recommended flies and pictures/recipes for those flies.
Nice one Kevin. Thanks for posting! That one got by me. I'll be DL it today.
I guess it doesn't have recipes, but the pictures are a help for me. Unless I tie them, I do not remember what the fly is half the time. Dries are the worst. They all look alike sometimes. :)
You may want to hold off on the iPhone. Seems that a major phone service and a manufacturer have teamed up with Microsoft to release a Windows 7 based phone. Look at these:

and no this is not a make or break for microsoft. That is pure wishful thinking from their competition.
DO NOT GET THE I PHONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry but the new I phone 4 is a piece of junk compared to all the other phones on the market today. Apple and AT&T are at woar with each other. Read the reviews on the I phone. If it was me personnaly I would go with a Google based data phone. So many more apps and most are cabable of doing a lot more the the I phone for less money then the I phone. Just my 2 cents worth.
I have the iPhone4 and I love it. I have NO reason to compare it to anything else since it does all I need it to do.....................and more. I use it for business so my apps are minimal but to the point. NO JUNK.

I downloaded the iPhone app Hatches for 99 cents. It a hatching guide for different rivers in the U.S. The Orvis app looks good but it's expensive. Overall, I was hoping for more fly fishing apps. Maybe soon there will be.
There are, however, some good fly fishing podcasts.
