Just returned from salmon fishing Lake Ontario tribs. Great trip but my back is killing me. Saw some fishermen using interesting whole back support systems. Anyone know where can I find such? Tried Orvis and Patagonian with no luck.
Thanks
John

My buddy Paul uses a wadeing belt built similar to a weight lifting belt. Claims it helps from getting backache. I'll see him tomorrow and ask him where he got it.
I use a back brace and it has helped me immensely. I got mine from my company but i can find out who makes them if you're interested.

Be careful using a back brace until you know what the cause of the ache is!!!
some braces can seem to help but weaken the back more over time..
Get it checked out and if a brace is indicated then do so..

John, are you using boot foot waders? I learned a long time ago that stocking foot waders put a lot less stress on your back.

Thanks, but I use stocking foot with korkers, I think I'm looking for more than just lower (lumbar) back support. Middle back is bothered also.
Normand,
I did but wasn't hurting at the time. Didn't get the name.
Sometimes my back is killing me when I'm fishing.
Someone told me that those wading belts don't work for back pain, you need to go for the real medical ones.
Therefore I haven't tried them out.
I think I know that one reason for this is lack of movement, I hardly work out any more :(
I went to a specialist shoe store and bought insole to put in my shoes (http://www.superfeet.com), it's higher to the heels in my case.
This has made a big difference for me although it does not cure the back ache compleatly, I put them in my wading shoes, their made of nylon and it's ok if they get wet.
I know that some doctors say that this does not help and is just sales gimmick, but as I said, it has made a big difference for me.
