Back on the game
So I got my fly rod and headed to the beach last Sunday, I didn't catch much due to very bad weather conditions but I did have a blast, it was great casting old reliable again.
Here's what I caught.

I will report whatever I can snag next time.

...but was your casting better?

I tried what you guys suggested and yes, I didn't hit my fly rod with the fly.
Thanks

Martin,
I am sure it was fun. But....sucks doesn't it? Sorta like driving 5 hours round trip to catch one 8" trout......<grinning>
Hope you learn the ropes before I hook up with you someday. Then you can show me....and save me a lot of trial and error.
Did you do any type of spey casts....or just single hand casting?
BTW...I believe you can fish too. I'm not too sure about me though.

What I love about surf fishing is that you don't need a lotta flies (but you know I did tie more than I will ever need) and the drive to my nearest beach is around 30 min and there's never traffic, I have caught some fish out of luck I guess.
Don't worry, by the time we meet to fish I'll know a bit more. I'm meeting with a very knowledgeable fly angler this Sunday, he's going to teach me about the timing and the waves and all. I have a 9' single hand rod, you don't really have to cast far to catch fish in the surf.
I'll post pix when I get to fish this weekend. Nice to hear from you again.
