St. Croix Triumph
I have the opportunity to get my hands on a St. Croix Triumph (8' 4pc. 4wt.) The guy is selling it fairly cheap - under $100. I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with one of these or any of the other St. Croix rods. I've never used one and curious about what people have to say about them.

Nice medium fast action rods. I have an 8' 4pc 4wt and 7'6" 2pc 6wt and have also used a 9' 6 and 9' 9wt wt. Very good value priced rods. I bought these to use as loaners and for instruction, but I like them enough that every once an a while I willo grab one instead of one of my much more expensive models such as my Sage 379-3 LL or 490-4 LL. The 8' 4pc 4wt is a nice small stream or panfish rod. St. Croix makes an excellent product.

I have a St Croix 4 wt 4 piece 8 ft Imperial model that I use as my "free stone stream" rod. Very well made with some nice features (alignment dots) and excellent finish. The size and weight are perfect for small streams with tight conditions.

Thanks for the comments. I need a good small stream rod since most of the places I fish are tight. There are a few places where the 8' is even too long.
