The Holy Grail, Chartreuse Boa Yarn, Is it Available?

I have looked for chartreuse Boa yarn to no avail. My latest effort was to buy some Yellow/Green "L. L. Yarn" brand Boa yarn on Ebay, hoping against hope that there was some chartreuse in the mix. It does not have a part number or description of the color on it.

To no avail. It has a section of very light yellow and a section of a very light greenish color. (I am mildly color blind, so am not sure of the exact shades, but it is not chartreuse.) It might turn out to be a set of quite useful colors, but it is not chartreuse.

Has anyone ever seen chartreuse Boa yarn or Boa yarn that has sections of chartreuse in it, and if so what is the color name, or part number, and brand.

You could try getting it in white and dying it?

I've seen yellow, white, red and black, but not chartreuse. I think I'm down to only bright pink, now that you mention it. I guess I need to go shopping.

I have not seen that color. Get a chartreuse marker, and color a white one...if they make boa yarn in white that is.

I have gotten Fl. Chartreuse BODY FUR from Dan Bailey's (#3777 page 46). They have several colors available. You may be able to find it on sponser sites also. The body fur is very similar to the boa which I have not seen in chartreuse.

I have tried to dye and color white boa yarn and had no success.
I have not seen chartruseboa yarn.

Perhaps the closest I've seen to chartreuse in boa yarn is from Mei Mei...I've seen it called "Key Lime" and "Sour Apple". It isn't like a super-bright chartreuse, but its the closest I've seen. Actually, earlier this week I won an auction for the Key Lime. I THINK its probably the same as the Sour Apple, but I will verify that when it arrives (it was hard to tell from the pics).
Also...my neighbor had made some "stuff animals" using what appears to be sheeted fabric of boa yarn-like material...She did one that was a fairly good chartreuse color. She said she got the fabric at Hancock Fabrics. I haven't been there to see they still have it. She made those stuffed animal toys about 2 years ago.

Don't give up hope! I've been looking hard for this stuff for a couple years now. Just yesterday I ran across 2 "brands" I hadn't heard of before, and another brand or two showed up (to me) in the previous couple of weeks.

You guys already know how much I like this stuff...it works VERY well for me using Rick Z's boa yarn leech pattern. Last night I tried a new (to me) color...Purple. I caught bass, bluegills and a crappie on it while fishing in the dark.

Hi All,

I phoned Dan Bailey's today, and they currently do not have the chartreuse in stock. It has been back ordered for a few months. The fellow advised that the manufacturer has not made the next batch of chartreuse.

I asked him when it would be available, and he did not know. I also asked if it would definately be available again, and he said he believes it will, and advised to check back in every now and then to find out when they have it.

Dave, please keep us all advised when the sour apple and other Boa yarn comes in, and what the color turns out to be. We appreciate the news on it.

Another source I have gotten this in the past is Badger Creek Flytyer www.eflyftyer.com. It is listed as CCT body fur under synthetics. It is best to email them as he works during the day elsewhere.

In an email to me he does have the chartreise CCT Body Fur along with several other colors.
