Ok enough is enough, I feel discriminated against. I will not be happy until there is a fish-in here in Scotland http://www.flyanglersonline.com/bb/wink.gif

Garic;
In the word's of "Larry the Cable Guy" "Get R Done"!!
I felt the same way about fly fishing here in Michigan.
I posted for a "Regional" Fish - In here in Michigan and it has turned into the North American Fish - In.
We have many members from the European Comunity and you may be suprised at the response.
Would 6 make a Fish-In? You bet!!
Pick a good area with options for accomodation's,fishing and sight seeing.

I feel more like I do now than I did when I got here!

garic, aside from the cost to get there, is Scotland as expensive to fish as England (with all the private waters)?
Garic,
I think the Fish-In at Rocky Ford Creek, on January 1, each year started with 4-5 people. Linemender, Z, JeffW, and my self. O yeah, Kevin too. That Fish-In grows a little, and shrinks a little from year to year, but it's great fun. Sometimes the Fish-In is more about meeting up with old friends than it's about the fishing. I say, "Start One," and see who shows up. It may multiply.
Have fun with whatever you decide.

Goddess, some places are privately owned and you can pay anything up to ?65 (approx 120$) for catching 4 fish, but that is the exception. you can get a whole days fishing for wild brown trout or grayling for as little as ?3 (5$) for a whole day, and keep as many as you like if that is your bag

Garic,
Per your request, my wife Penny will be in Scotland in Sept this year to asses the possibilities of a fish in there. You better butter her up if you want her to bring back a good report. Better to be Penny wise than pound foolish. Pun intended. <grin>

Just kiddin'....but she will indeed be touring Scotland in Sept.
Garic, ...
The FishIn's aren't necessarily a BIG "thing". imho, ... (JC ... correct me if I'm wrong), ... the idea is to have the opportunity to meet fellow FAOL'ers on (or off) the water.
Heck, ... if I can meet just ONE Faol'er this season, ... I'll be happy.
Just go for it!

Garic, you missed out. Went up to Dunbar last weekend and met up with a score of salty dawgs to fish the sea.
Weather was a little harsh for the first two days and we got blown off the mark. Last day was almost sultry, the sea almost flat and many a fish caught.
The evenings were spent tying, lying and drinking many a pint of the black stuff (drunk the hotel dry) and many, many, many single malts.
