different finish strokes

I didn't want to hijack Lastchances thread. I have done it both ways: epoxy only on the threads, and covering the wraps onto the blank. One 4wt rod I built I intentionally barely covered only the thread, and you can just barely see the ripples of the wraps. I showed it to a friend. He said "What happened?". I said I like it that way. He likes lots of epoxy on his wraps, I don't. He likes big metallic trim wraps, I like them small. Normally I do two coats of epoxy, and I just use the minimum amount enough to get a nice smooth finish, and try to barely go onto the blank. I'm still learning.
It's your rod and you get to do whatever you want.

That's the absolute beauty of building your own... it's like burger king you can have it your way. Beautiful rod by the way I like them minimal and clean too, no big flashies and nothing spectacular just simple and beautiful.
