Is egg yarn just regular yarn purchased at a craft store? I'm new to tying
I'm looking a bag of it right now and the paper that came in the bag. It says "GLO-BUG (trademark R) Yarn". Some are 5 yds. and some are 10 yds. length. Mine says it came from THE BUG SHOP in California. I doubt you can find this stuff (its not like regular knitting yarn, its thick and fluffy) at a craft store unless you special order. Check the fly tying supply sponsors on this site first as I'm sure they would have it. Otherwise, you most likely will have to find a fly tying shop or fly tying supplier.
Have fun in your new fly tying adventures http://www.flyanglersonline.com/bb/smile.gif.

Yeah that!
McFly Foam is the greatest!
It behaves nicely when tying and has a certain look when wet that is only beaten by real eggs!

A fun, new, egg yarn, is the "Egg Foo Yarn". I picked some up at Bass Pro while roaming about. It's neater and more easily handled than the regular egg yarn. Not nearly as much waste.
