I use them and like them very much. They seem slightly slower than the TFO and Albright series (as a generality) but still are classsified as middle to fast action. The finish of the rods are nice and the actions are smooth and consistent. I have a 6 and 8 and will add one or two more tomy collection this year. If you go to one of the shows listed on their website [url=http://www.elkhornflyrods.com:2e5d0]www.elkhornflyrods.com[/url:2e5d0] and visit them there they have great show prices. Last year it was $160 for rod and reel. There reels are also nice. Especially for the package price. I don't know that they will offer the same deal this year as the last two years, but my assumption is that they will.
For Bamboo wannabe's I hear that their bamboo rod is a great deal. Worth the money, that is to say it is a good $500 bamboo rod and a way to enter the bamboo world. Not a Kusse, but you're not paying a $1,000 plus for a rod.

I purchased an 8-6 5wt 4 piece with the reel at the Chicago show last year and like it a lot. Hard to beat for the price.
sport, what model rod and reel did you get?
If you don't mind the far east making them.Flyfish america has a good article on
all the rods built "overthere".
I used Elkhorn rods and reels for guiding for three years. I never had ANY issues with them. I had three 5wts for the guiding and they were good, all around rods. The only problem is that there is no warranty on them (at least there wasn't when I bought mine).
I also have an 11wt rod and reel that I use as a backup rod for salmon and saltwater stuff. I caught a 25+ lb salmon on it a few years ago. It did great.

I built a rod using the Elkhorn blanks and it is one of my favorite rods to fish. The one I built is an 8' 3 wt. and I fish it probably 75% of the time that I fish graphite. I think that you can't go wrong with them and I know that Brian is doing a great job with his line and in customer Satisfaction....
Dpenrod, I am out of the country right now, I will let you know when I get back to the USA.

As I remember, I bought the rods with no warranty. Looks like this has changed. I bought them on nothing but price point.
I bought them the first year they were out, so I was on the bleeding edge.
