"Euro" Thread
Has anybody used the "Euro" thread that Hook and Hackle sells now? I bought several colors in the 12/0 and have been extremely pleased with it. It is definitely the strongest 12/0 I have used. They say it is imported from Germany and is polyester and has a rounded profile. I don't know what the dernier of it is, but I do know that it has a very small diameter. I haven't tried the other sizes (3/0, 6/0, and 8/0) yet, but probably will before too long.

Joe,
Haven't tried that one yet, though I am curious. Can it be "untwisted" to lay flat like Danville's or Bennichi?

Good point Ron , I've looked at that thread a few times myself and had the same question. It would be hard for me to give up my Uni though.

Yes, it can lay very flat. With the combination of the small diameter of the thread and my rotten eyes it is hard to see, but, yes.

Thanks, Joe. I'll have to give that thread a test drive. Can't hurt.

I think you'll like it.

Is the thread waxed or unwaxed? Web site doesn't seem to say. If you tried Benecchi, how does it compare? I've been trying to find an alternative to Benecchi (good stuff, just very expensive), and this might be worth trying.

To tell you the truth, I don't know if it's waxed or not. I sent an email to Ron at Hook and Hackle to find out and I'll report back. I do know that all of my many other threads are waxed and I didn't notice a bit of difference.
It is tougher than Bennechi. I really like Bennechi, too, and I was also looking for a less expensive alternative. It seems to be easier to control, as well.

Just got an email from Ron and he says it is lightly waxed.
