Absolutely wonderful. I clearly remember the births of my three children, the youngest being 18 years old. It is magic and mystery the likes of which has no compare. There was an instant bonding that showed me, in about 2 seconds, what unconditional love was all about. My mother held my son the day he was born. She said it was the youngest child she had ever held, including her own. We were born in the 40's and 50's where she was so drugged she missed much of the experience. I am sorry for her.
FYI to new or soon to be new parents. That instant bonding does not happen with all children (it didn't with one of mine), but it came later and is strong as any of the others so do not fret if you have a child and find that that bond is not instantaneous.

Jed, I'm so glad you included that bit about not instantly bonding....because that's the way it works sometimes.
D.Micus, thank you for taking me back. I just now read your story and it brought tears to my eye's as I remembered my own children being born. That is a time (for me) that I found, there is no way I could dought that God exsited. I felt love more pure than I ever had felt in my life.

Dave's son, Jim, gave Dave the same gift he gave his parents (oh, so, many millenia ago). Happy belated birthday, Dave! Thank you.

Dave:
Great story. Not the kid part. The cheapskate part. I'll bet you still wait 'till Christmas Eve to get your tree from a dumpster... brilliant.
e
actually, epo, i wait till after christmas. that way i can get one with tinsel on it!
More brilliant. Do you pick one that was already in the white disposal bag so you could reuse that too?
