Fly swap question
Could someone please explain the fly swaps to me? I mean, does an individual tie one fly for every person that is involved in the swap (all the same kind of fly of course) or what? Im interested in getting into one, but i want to make sure that i know the "rules" per se and dont end up being more of a pain in the back side (lord knows that with throwing hooks we have enough of that already) to everyone else involved. I just need the particulars is all.

While the details of each swap are up to the 'swap meister' the general protocal is for each person to tie X number of flies (x= the number of participants) and send them to the swap meister with a self addressed stamped envelope or parcel. The swap miester sorts the collection of flies and sends back 1 copy of each pattern submitted.
It's nice to include a recipe for the fly and maybe a name for the fly and the creator/tyer.

Usually the first posting of the swap sets the rules of the swap. read it carefully and don't be afraid to ask questions, the most important thing is to have fun.
