Does he mean a blue wing olive tied parachute style? Generally when I tie a parachute I use a turkey flat for the wing post, tie the body according to the standard pattern and wind the hackle horizontally, around the wing post. I use a hackle one size larger - a size 12 hackle on a # 14 hook.
no i dont think it was a BWO.
If he was a real pal, he would give you a sample!
Chuck
Right! A good buddy would have given you one to fish and another to use as a pattern at home. I'm sure it was just an oversight.
your friend should give you a sample to tie ;)
or steal one, take a photo of it and the experts here will decode it for you
Maybe something link this....

Aw come on guys. Good buddies keep good buddies in the dark when one is catching fish and the other is not. It is just the kind of thing good buddies do to each other.
I have kept a good buddie in the dark about where I fish for years. I catch a good mess of big bluegills, he ask "Where did you catch them?" I say "Secret Lake # 1.: or "Secret Lake #2." and on it goes.
Fishbums are sometimes awfull that way.
