Help with tippet jam inside "Ross" reel drag disc
Have a "Ross Flywater 3" reel and a piece of tippet got caught on the inside of the reel and wound tight around the inside of the drag disc. First was aware of it when I tried to strip more line for a cast and thought the drag had been somehow tightened way down. Tried to unwind the piece of tippet but it broke off and only about 1/4" is now sticking up from behind the disc. Not familar with removal of the mechanism and was wondering if it was possible to remove the cross pin? If so, what should be used to remove it or is it too tightly set to mess with it? Couldn't seem to catch a hold of the tippet behind the disc with a small pointer as it's wound pretty tightly. Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks...
Thanks for the help one and all...
Bugman,
Thought about getting out the old Bic and burning it out too; but, didn't try it. At least not yet.
Tailingloop,
Thanks for the info on spindle removal etc. May go that way.
Normand,
May just have to bite the bullet and send it back if all else fails.
