Hi SD9,
Really super pictures---very well done. I borrowed the middle picture of the stream and all the greenery for my desk top for at least a week. I hope that you don't mind. I do have one small suggestion. The picture of the rattlesnake would have been much more effective if you had harassed and provoked the snake until it turned and charged you with mouth open and fangs bared. Also, laying on the ground in front of the enraged snake would have given a ground-level perspective that would have been much more impressive as to the size and distance from the snake. Now, if you had waited until the snake got close enough to use the macro mode on your camera............... ;) Seriously, thanks for the photos. I enjoyed them immensely. 8T :)
I tried to get him to coil up, he just wouldn't do it. He did turn on my and half coil, but I was moving to avoid feeling the fangs.
Is this more what you are looking for? He just wouldn't put up the rattle for me to get a really cool picture.

That's impressive! Your problem getting the snake to behave aggressively shows just how little most snakes want a confrontation with a large animal. 8T :)

Kind of glad that guy isn't part of my summertime memories ??!!
No need for rattles up - the pics are great just the way they are.

Cool pics. Great flora and fauna. That stream looks like a great place for a 6' 3 weight.
