Keel hooks
I have a few older patterns that I'd like to tie that will not lend themselves to the bendback style of application. Is there a bass worm hook or other type of hook I could use in it's stead as mustad no longer makes them. I have some Mustaad 34007's that I may try to bend to produce them myself. Any one try that? Check out the Mustad Signature series of hooks the C52S BLN stinger/deerhair hooks are excellent for bending. I recently tied some bendbacks for bass fishing and they turned out nice.

This is what they look like. I guess after Clouser invented and Lefty pushed them the keel hook was phased out. This is what they look like

Maybe a 60 degree jig hook like an Eagle Claw 413, Owner 5317 etc.?

You can do all kinds of stuff with synthetics and epoxy

and more traditional materials:

The 34007 would be fine for making bend backs, but you may run out of shank for making a keel hook?. And I think it would be hard to do without affecting tracking in the water and hook holding properties. Here?s a bend back idea for a beefier look:

I found some on Ebay. I think it was thinking of the 340011 rather than the 07. Thanks for the effort. I have googled more than a few times looking for them and have always come up empty. SU

Keel style hooks
Dai-Riki sells the 700B Crawfish or Nymph hook in sizes 2 thru 16. This hook would almost qualify as a Keel style hook.
