End of season
Yesterday was the last day of our season and a friend and I decided to go and brave the river for the last time. Our rains have finaly arrived and the river is flowing very strong at the moment. We only fished for three hours and managed to land 9 fish and lost a few. All the fish was very strong in the cold and fast flowing water. There was no chance to fish with dry flies and we resorted to nymph ffishing, which is not my favourite.
Some of you may recall this foto a while back. Very thin water.

These next pictures is of the same river a little further up taken yesterday.

In another couple of weeks guys in kayak's will be going down here.
Sadly from now on I will have to resort to stillwater fishing to get my kicks, but at least Ill have lots of time to fill up my fly boxes.

Nice comparison photos. Looks like "fish on" in the third pic ??
Really appreciated the posts you did on your fishing trips this year. Look forward to more next stream season, and in the meantime, some stillwater fishing pics of your part of the world would be much enjoyed.

Morne,
Great photos and the river is actually looking rather good, great for nymph fishing which is a style that I do happen to like ;).
Thanks for the season of photos of South Africa. Don't forget us during your off season trips to the lakes, get some pics for us.

Beautiful and ....
Don't you love how we fly fishers can see photos like these and convert them mentally to our own fishery? Some of that water really looks like....? Really appreciate the reports, very neat!
