What is the best fly line for long distance casting on a 8wt rod.
If you're looking for a type, probably a shooting head with a running line.
If you're looking for a brand of "regular line", there is no "best". Everyone has their favorite. It depends on the rod, the person casting it, fishing conditions, weather conditions, and more. The best possible thing to do is to cast as many lines as you can get your hands on with that rod. Sometimes what seems like a so-so rod will come alive with the right line.

It depends on what you will be fishing for. Be a little more specific with your question and you'll probably get more responses.
I bought and Orvis bonefish line a few years back for my 8 wt to take to Belize. I thought that stuff was great. Real slick and shot really well.
There really isn't a best fly line...more like the best fly line for you.
I won't preach what everyone else is, as you didn't ask what the best line was, you asked what the best line for distance was
If you're looking for length, you want to either look at a serious WF taper (like the SA sharskin, which has something like a 63' long head in the 8 weight). or simply a shooting head with attached running line, or a shooting taper line.
Scientific Anglers Sharkskin for pure distance without going to a shooting head set up.
